From September 14th to 16th, 2016, at the Hotel Gude and the Elisabeth Hospital in Kassel, under the auspices of the German Association of Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists, the German Academy of Otorhinolaryngology, and the Rhinoplasty Society of Europe, the 14th RHINO® Workshop took place.
Part 1, also known as Continuing Education on Wednesday Afternoon, was opened with the category "Current events from the ENT department". Then an interdisciplinary team of lecturers informed on trends in rhinology as well as in aesthetic and functional rhinosurgery.
In Part 2 of the RHINO® Workshop, also known as Rhinosurgery Live, seven surgeries on the inner and outer nose were transmitted to the symposium location in HD quality using two cameras.
One focus of the live transmissions was the demonstration of the techniques developed for primary and secondary rhinoplasty at the Elizabeth Hospital in Kassel.
In two patients, full-powered rhinoplasty was performed, and in one patient revision septorhinoplasty using the Kassel L-beam. Furthermore, in one patient, a septum perforation occlusion and a rhinoplasty were performed simultaneously. The Breathe Implant was used in another patient, and in two other patients complex secondary nasal corrections with difficult nasal tip corrections were performed.
The RHINO® Workshop was evaluated again in 2016 (1 = excellent ... 5 = unsatisfactory).
